THE LEMOSHO TREK ROUTE Adventure begins at Lemosho Gate (2,300m) with a scenic rainforest trek to Forest Camp (2,743m), where monkeys and exotic birds welcome you. On DAY 2, the trail climbs through heath and moorland to the wide open Shira Plateau (3,506m), offering the first panoramic views of Kilimanjaro. DAY 3 explores this UNESCO World Heritage site with its wildflowers and volcanic landscapes before reaching Moir Camp (4,146m), tucked between rugged ridges. On DAY 4, the route ascends to the dramatic Lava Tower (4,634m) for acclimatization, then drops into the lush Barranco Valley (3,963m), home to giant groundsels and lobelias. The challenge of DAY 5 is conquering the towering Barranco Wall, rewarded with breathtaking glacier views en route to Karanga Camp (3,995m). A shorter but vital climb on DAY 6 brings you to Barafu Camp (4,673m), the high base camp where final preparations are made. At midnight on DAY 7, the summit push begins rising under a starry African sky to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) just as the sun paints the horizon, a truly once-in-a-lifetime moment. After celebrating at the Roof of Africa, descend through alpine desert and forest to Mweka Camp (3,100m). On the final day, DAY 8, trek through the rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,640m) for your summit certificate, then return to Arusha for a hot shower, warm meal, and the joy of completing one of the world’s greatest trekking adventures.
The 7-day Lemosho adventure begins with a drive from Arusha to Lemosho Gate (2,300m) and a gentle hike through lush rainforest alive with monkeys, birds, and wildflowers, ending at Forest Camp (2,743m). On Day 2, the trail rises steadily through the heath and moorland, offering sweeping views of the Shira Plateau, with lunch at Shira 1 Camp (3,506m) before continuing across grasslands and rivers to Shira 2 Camp (3,850m). After celebrating at the summit, descend via Barafu to Mweka Camp (3,100m) for a well-earned rest. The final day, Day 7, is a gentle rainforest walk down to Mweka Gate (1,640m), where climbers receive summit certificates before returning to Arusha for a hot shower, a hearty meal, and the unforgettable memory of conquering Kilimanjaro.
The Machame Route, also known as the “Whiskey Route”, is the most popular and scenic path up Kilimanjaro, offering a perfect balance of challenge, acclimatization, and breathtaking views. DAY 1 : Arusha to Machame Camp (2,835m) begins the trek at Machame Gate (1,640m), walking through lush rainforest alive with monkeys and exotic birds, before climbing steep ridges to Machame Camp. DAY 2: Machame Camp to Shira Cave Camp (3,750m)
Ascend through heath and moorland over rocky ridges, enjoying expansive views, before crossing a gorge to reach Shira Plateau and camp.
Day 3: Shira to Lava Tower (4,634m) and Barranco Camp (3,963m), a long acclimatization day—trek to Lava Tower, a striking volcanic rock, before descending to the spectacular Barranco Valley surrounded by giant lobelias. DAY 4: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (3,995m), Climb the dramatic Barranco Wall, with thrilling views of glaciers above, then trek through valleys and ridges to Karanga Camp. DAY 5: Karanga to Barafu Camp (4,673m), steady ascent through alpine desert leads to Barafu Camp, your base for the summit push. Rest early and prepare for the midnight climb.
DAY 6: Summit Uhuru Peak (5,895m) & descend to Mweka Camp (3,100m) Begin at midnight under starry skies, reaching Stella Point at sunrise and then the Roof of Africa – Uhuru Peak. After celebrating, descend back via Barafu and Millennium to Mweka Camp. DAY 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate (1,640m) – Arusha, a final descent through rainforest brings you to Mweka Gate for summit certificates, then return to Arusha for a well-earned rest.
THE NORTHERN CIRCUIT offers a remote, less-traveled adventure with outstanding views of Kibo Peak from all angles.
DAY 1 begins in Arusha, driving through savannah and pine forests to Lemosho Gate, then trekking through lush rainforest to Forest Camp. DAY 2 climbs through rainforest into heath and moorland, reaching Shira 1 Camp on the scenic Shira Plateau. DAY 3 explores the UNESCO plateau further, crossing lava flows to Moir Camp with stunning sunset views. DAY 4 descends slightly along alpine desert and moorland to Pofu (Eland) Camp, enjoying quiet trails and natural water sources. DAY 5 continues through open moorland and dry riverbeds to Third Cave Camp, with panoramic views of Amboseli National Park. DAY 6 ascends the lunar-like Alpine Desert to School Hut Camp, preparing for the strenuous summit push. DAY 7 begins the early climb through rocky terrain to Gilman’s Point and Crater Camp, camping under the stars on the crater floor. DAY 8 starts at dawn with the final push to Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point, followed by a long descent via Barafu, Millennium, and Heath zones to Mweka Camp. DAY 9 completes the trek, descending through rainforest to Mweka Gate, concluding with celebratory lunch, souvenirs, and return to Arusha. This route guarantees superior acclimatization, a peaceful trek, and breathtaking scenery across diverse habitats from rainforest to frozen tundra.
The Rongai Route approaches Kilimanjaro from the quieter northern side, offering a gentle, low-crowd trek with stunning wilderness scenery. DAY 1 begins in Arusha and drives to Rongai Gate, trekking through forest and heath to Simba Camp with views of the Kenyan plains. DAY 2 climbs gradually through heath and moorland to Kikelelwa Camp, passing the Second Cave along the way. DAY 3 ascends the lower Mawenzi Ridge to Mawenzi Tarn Hut Camp, with optional afternoon acclimatization hikes. DAY 4 is a full acclimatization day with a hike along the Upper Mawenzi Ridge before returning to camp. DAY 5 crosses the moon-like Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks to reach Kibo Hut Camp, base for the summit push. DAY 6 starts at midnight for the final climb to Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point, then descends via Kibo Hut to Horombo Hut Camp. DAY 7 completes the trek with a scenic descent through moorland and rainforest to Marangu Gate, followed by celebratory lunch, souvenir shopping, and return to Arusha. This route provides a drier, peaceful trek with spectacular views across diverse ecosystems.
The Umbwe Route is Kilimanjaro’s steepest and most direct trail—perfect for climbers seeking pure adventure, solitude, and a real challenge. Known as the least crowded path, it offers dramatic scenery from start to finish. DAY 1 begins with a drive to Umbwe Gate, then a steep rainforest climb where monkeys leap through the trees, reaching Umbwe Camp on the ridge. DAY 2 pushes higher along rocky ridges draped in moss, leading to the spectacular Barranco Valley Camp with views of towering cliffs. DAY 3 brings the thrill of scrambling up the famous Barranco Wall, then traversing glacier valleys to Karanga Camp. DAY 4 ascends across the stark alpine desert to Barafu Camp, the final base before the summit attempt. DAY 5 is the ultimate challenge—an unforgettable midnight climb under the stars, reaching Stella Point at sunrise before the final push to Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa. After celebrating at the summit, descend through changing landscapes to Mweka Camp. DAY 6 takes you back through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where certificates and celebrations mark the end of your epic journey. Though demanding, the Umbwe Route rewards climbers with raw beauty, a thrilling sense of achievement, and memories that last a lifetime.
The Marangu Route, also called the “Coca-Cola Route”, is Kilimanjaro’s most historic trail and the only one with hut accommodations, making it a comfortable yet thrilling path to the summit.
DAY 1: Start at Marangu Gate (1,860m), trek through rainforest alive with monkeys, and overnight at Mandara Hut (2,700m) with an optional hike to Maundi Crater.
DAY 2: Ascend into the moorlands of giant lobelias and reach Horombo Hut (3,720m) with wide mountain views.
DAY 3: Take an acclimatization hike to Mawenzi Ridge, then return to Horombo for rest.
DAY 4: Cross the lunar-like Saddle and hike to Kibo Hut (4,703m), your summit base camp.
DAY 5: Begin your midnight climb under the stars, reach Uhuru Peak (5,895m) at sunrise, then descend back to Horombo.
DAY 6: Trek down through heathland and rainforest to Marangu Gate, where certificates and celebrations await.

MOUNT MERU
The fifth highest mountain in Africa. an epic adventure that combine hiking and exploration of nature and wildlife.
DAY 1: Arusha – Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut (2,514m), After breakfast in Arusha, drive through Arusha National Park where wildlife like giraffes, buffalo, and warthogs may be spotted. Begin your trek at Momella Gate, passing grasslands and rainforest before reaching Miriakamba Hut. Evening tea, dinner, and overnight stay. Habitat: Grassland & Rainforest
DAY 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut (3,570m), Climb steeply along a forested ridge, then continue into the heath zone with stunning views. Reach Saddle Hut, with an optional hike to Little Meru (3,801m) for breathtaking panoramas of Kilimanjaro and Momella Lakes. Prepare for your midnight summit attempt.
DAY 3: Saddle Hut – Socialist Peak (4,566m) – back to Miriakamba Hut (2,514m)
Begin the summit push at midnight, trekking past Rhino Point and Cobra Point to reach Socialist Peak at sunrise—Mount Meru’s highest point with magnificent views of Kilimanjaro. Descend back via Saddle Hut for lunch, then continue down to Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4: Miriakamba Hut – Momella Gate – Arusha
After breakfast, descend through forest and grasslands with chances to spot wildlife. On clear days, enjoy views of Kilimanjaro and explore unique sites like Tululusia Waterfall or the Fig Tree Arch before returning to Momella Gate for certificates and celebration. Transfer back to Arusha.
